Google Brings AI Assistant to More Asian Chrome Users
Google Expands AI Assistant to Asian Chrome Users
Google just made web browsing smarter for millions across Asia. The tech giant announced via Twitter that its "Gemini in Chrome" feature is now reaching more countries in the Asia-Pacific region, promising to transform how people interact with the internet.

The expansion, which began rolling out April 20, 2026, covers eight major markets:
- Australia
- Indonesia
- Japan (desktop only)
- Philippines
- Singapore
- South Korea

What Gemini Brings to Your Browser
This isn't just another toolbar add-on. Gemini acts like a digital assistant living inside Chrome:
1. Your Web Sidekick Ask questions directly in the address bar or have it summarize lengthy articles in seconds. Comparing prices across multiple tabs? Gemini handles that too.
2. Google Super Connector Need to schedule a meeting while reading an email? Gemini can pull up your Calendar without leaving the page. It also works with Maps, Gmail and even explains YouTube videos on command.
3. Image Wizard The new Nano Banana2 feature lets you edit webpage images using text commands - think "make this product photo brighter" or "remove the background."
4. Memory That Learns Unlike basic chatbots, Gemini remembers your preferences and past conversations to deliver personalized help over time.
