Strategic Focus on AI-Driven Operations
According to Deshant Kaila, Head of Global Business Services at McDonald's, the Hyderabad center is still in its early stages, but the company's priorities are clear. McDonald's aims to leverage AI for:
- Intelligent ordering systems
- Sales forecasting
- Dynamic pricing models
- Performance tracking
The company is also developing a cross-border personalized application to enhance customer experiences globally.
Global Rollout of AI Verification Systems
McDonald's has already implemented AI order verification systems in 400 restaurants worldwide. These systems automatically identify and correct errors before customers receive their meals. Durga Prakash, Head of McDonald's Global Technology Office, revealed that this technology will expand to 40,000 stores by 2027, significantly boosting operational efficiency.
India’s Transformation into a High-End Hub
McDonald's strategy in India focuses on technical tool development rather than large-scale hiring. The company plans to cultivate a robust pipeline of AI talent in the country. Alongside India, McDonald's is considering establishing global offices in Poland, which would form a trio of core operational centers with Mexico.
The Telangana state government recently announced that McDonald's will set up a Global Capability Center (GCC) in Hyderabad, expected to generate 2,000 jobs. This marks a shift from India’s traditional role as a low-cost outsourcing destination to a high-end hub supporting strategic decision-making and R&D.
