Li Auto Debuts Smart Glasses That Talk to Your Car

Li Auto Takes AI Wearables Mainstream With Livis Smart Glasses

Chinese automaker Li Auto is steering into new territory with the launch of Livis - smart glasses that bring artificial intelligence right to your face. Priced from 1,999 yuan (about $280), these sleek frames represent the company's first foray into wearable tech.

More Than Meets the Eye

The collaboration with optical giant Zeiss delivers premium lenses in prescription and photochromic options. But the real magic happens when you pair them with a Li Auto vehicle. "We see Livis as an extension of our cars' intelligence," explains Fan Haoyu, Li Auto's Senior VP.

At their core sits "Li Xiaotong," an upgraded AI assistant powered by MindGPT-4o - Li Auto's proprietary multimodal model. The system responds startlingly fast, waking in just 300 milliseconds and executing commands in under a second.

Your Car at Voice Command

Imagine adjusting your air conditioning or opening the tailgate while keeping both hands on the wheel - that's the convenience Livis promises drivers. The sunglasses version takes it further by projecting HUD information directly onto the lenses.

The featherlight frames (just 36 grams) pack surprising tech:

  • IP54 dust/water resistance
  • 12MP ultra-wide camera with stabilization
  • All-day battery (18.8 hours) plus wireless charging case

Future updates will enable independent navigation prompts and integration with Li Auto's "Task Master" feature.

Global Eyewear Service

The Zeiss partnership extends beyond hardware to worldwide optical services. Customers can upload prescriptions online and receive fitted glasses shipped same-day.

As automakers explore new frontiers beyond metal and wheels, Livis demonstrates how AI might soon become something we wear - not just something inside our vehicles.

Key Points:

  • Price: Starts at ¥1,999 (¥1,699 after subsidy)
  • Tech Specs: MindGPT-4o AI, 300ms wake time, iOS/Android compatible
  • Car Integration: Voice control for climate/tailgate, future HUD navigation
  • Hardware: Zeiss lenses, 36g frame, IP54 rating
  • Availability: Global prescription service available
