Tesla Ride: Hands-On FSD and Grok AI Experience

Tesla Introduces 'Tesla Ride' for Hands-On FSD and AI Interaction

Tesla has unveiled a new initiative called Tesla Ride, designed to give consumers firsthand experience with its Full Self-Driving (FSD) technology and the in-car AI assistant Grok. The program, currently available in the U.S., offers a 45-minute supervised drive where participants can explore Tesla's latest advancements.

How Tesla Ride Works

During the session, participants sit in the driver's seat while a Tesla consultant accompanies them in the front passenger seat. The consultant provides guidance on FSD features, comfort settings, and the infotainment system. Meanwhile, Grok enhances the experience by answering questions, telling stories, and engaging passengers throughout the ride.

Eligibility and Availability

To participate, individuals must hold a valid driver's license and car insurance. Tesla recommends booking appointments in advance due to limited slots. The program launched in October 2025 and will run through November, with some regional promotions extending until December. States currently offering the service include:

  • Michigan
  • Virginia
  • Illinois
  • Nevada
  • California

Key Considerations

While Tesla Ride showcases FSD capabilities, the company emphasizes that the technology remains supervised and not fully autonomous. This distinction is critical for managing consumer expectations about current self-driving capabilities.

Broader Implications

The initiative reflects Tesla's strategy to educate users about FSD while highlighting the role of AI in future mobility. By combining cutting-edge driving technology with interactive AI, Tesla aims to make autonomous driving more accessible and engaging.

Key Points:

  • 45-minute sessions with Tesla consultants.
  • Grok AI provides interactive entertainment.
  • Available in five U.S. states through late 2025.
  • FSD remains supervised; not fully autonomous.
