Surging Demand for AI Talent

Since February 2025, tens of thousands of AI professionals have updated their profiles to indicate they're open to new opportunities each month. This unprecedented activity level demonstrates both the high mobility of skilled AI workers and the intense competition among employers.

"What we're seeing is a perfect storm of factors," explains Dr. Liang Wei, a labor market analyst at Peking University. "The rapid expansion of China's AI sector has created more positions than can be filled by existing talent pools, while simultaneously increasing burnout rates among current employees."

Corporate Recruitment Wars Intensify

The platform currently hosts job postings from over 1,000 AI companies, ranging from startups to tech giants. In a notable shift from traditional hiring practices:

  • Senior executives from firms like Huawei, Xiaohongshu and DeepSeek now personally recruit through their profiles
  • Many list "long-term recruitment" directly in their profile signatures
  • HR teams and headhunters engage in "minute-level" outreach to desirable candidates

Profile views for AI professionals have increased 300% year-over-year, with machine learning engineers and computer vision specialists receiving the most attention.

Key Points:

  • 41.07% job-seeking rate among Chinese AI professionals (vs. 14.65% in internet sector)
  • Monthly increases of tens of thousands of professionals entering job market since February 2025
  • Over 1,000 companies actively recruiting on Maimai platform
  • Major firms employing unconventional recruitment tactics including executive participation
  • Profile views for AI talent up 300% YoY, indicating extreme market demand
