Meta's New Muse Spark AI Sends App Soaring Up Charts

Meta's AI App Climbs to Top 5 After Major Upgrade

Meta's artificial intelligence efforts just got a significant boost with the launch of Muse Spark, its newest AI model developed by the company's Super Intelligence Lab. The immediate impact? The Meta AI app shot up from 57th to 5th place on the US App Store rankings practically overnight.

Download Surge Shows Strong Demand

Appfigures data reveals the dramatic effect of Muse Spark's debut - US iOS downloads hit 46,000 on launch day, an 87% spike from the previous day. However, the Android version saw only a 3% increase, highlighting different adoption patterns across platforms.

"The high ranking shows we're tapping into real user needs," said Alexandr Wang, the former Scale AI leader now heading Meta's Super Intelligence Lab, in a social media post.

What Makes Muse Spark Special?

This isn't just another incremental update. Muse Spark represents a substantial leap forward with:

  • Multi-modal capabilities handling voice, text and image inputs
  • Advanced problem-solving for complex questions in health, science and math
  • Visual programming tools letting users create websites and games through simple prompts

Meta has also implemented a clever multi-agent system where different specialized AI components collaborate to answer user queries more effectively.

Global Reach Expanding

The numbers tell an impressive story:

  • 60.5 million total downloads worldwide
  • 25 million installs in 2026 alone
  • 138% growth compared to initial launch period

India currently leads as the top market, followed by the US, Brazil, Pakistan and Mexico. Website traffic saw an even more dramatic surge, with US visits jumping 570% above the 30-day average on April 8.

Competitive Landscape

Despite these gains, Meta AI still trails behind established players like ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini in overall industry rankings. The company plans to expand Muse Spark's availability across its ecosystem including WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, Messenger and its AI glasses in the coming months.

Key Points

  • Ranking jump: Meta AI app rose from 57th to 5th on US App Store
  • Download spike: 87% daily increase for iOS (46,000 downloads)
  • Global growth: 60.5 million total installs with India as top market
  • Technology edge: Muse Spark introduces multi-modal input and visual programming
