X Platform Rolls Out AI-Powered Custom Feeds - Here's What You Can Do

X Platform's New Custom Feeds Put Users in Control

Image

Ever feel like your social media feed doesn't quite match your interests? X (formerly Twitter) might have the solution. The platform just launched its Custom Timeline feature, giving users unprecedented control over what appears in their feeds.

How It Works

At the heart of this update is Grok AI, which analyzes your interactions to serve up content tailored specifically for you. Want more tech news and less sports chatter? Simply select from over 75 available topics - ranging from niche interests like robotics design to broader categories like real estate trends.

"This isn't just another algorithm tweak," explains social media analyst Priya Nair. "By letting users actively choose their preferred topics rather than guessing preferences, X is flipping the traditional social media model on its head."

Availability and Features

Right now, there's a catch: you'll need an iOS device and a Premium subscription to access the feature. Look for the new 'Add' button next to topic tags in your feed. Android users won't be left out forever - X has confirmed the feature is coming to Google's platform soon.

The update also introduces a Mute Topic tool that works like a digital mute button for entire categories of posts. Tired of political debates flooding your recommendations? One tap can silence them temporarily.

Why This Matters

In an era where many feel overwhelmed by irrelevant content, X's move could set a new standard for user control. Early testers report spending 30% less time scrolling thanks to more relevant posts appearing higher in their feeds.

The question remains: Will other platforms follow suit? For now, X Premium subscribers get first dibs on what might become social media's next big thing.

Key Points:

  • 🚀 Custom Timeline lets users pin preferred topics using Grok AI technology
  • 📱 Currently available only for iOS Premium subscribers (Android coming soon)
  • 🔕 New Mute Topic function helps filter unwanted content categories
  • 🏆 Over 75 topics available across diverse interest areas
