What sets the MG 4X apart is its semi-solid-state battery system - technology typically reserved for premium models. With an entry-level range of 510 kilometers, this powertrain solution promises improved winter performance and charging efficiency compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate batteries.

"We're democratizing next-gen battery tech," the company stated, suggesting competitors still debating basic battery chemistry ratios are playing catch-up.

Smarter Driving Through Gaming Tech

The SUV incorporates Horizon's Game AI Model, transforming its driver assistance from simple obstacle avoidance to nuanced decision-making resembling experienced human drivers. This collaboration represents an unconventional approach to developing autonomous capabilities.

Connectivity also takes center stage through integration with OPPO's Smart Mobility Ecosystem, allowing seamless transitions between mobile devices and vehicle systems - a feature targeting tech-savvy younger buyers.

Expanded Lineup Signals Strategic Shift

The launch event also previewed the coupe-style MG 07, available in both electric and hybrid variants priced between ¥150,000-200,000. Scheduled for April release, it initiates SAIC MG's new naming convention for future models.

These introductions coincide with sister brand Roewe's planned high-end transformation, including an AI-native SUV debut next month. Together, they showcase SAIC Group's comprehensive electrification strategy as China's EV market matures.

The illuminated MG badge may soon become a more common sight globally as these technologically advanced models roll out internationally.
