But Jiang sees this approach - using screen simulation clicks and accessibility services - as merely transitional. "It's like teaching computers to mimic human fingers," he explains, "when what we really want is for them to think."

While impressive, these methods raise legitimate privacy concerns by bypassing app sandbox protections. OPPO takes a different path, prioritizing on-device processing to keep sensitive data secure.

The Next Frontier: When Your Phone's AIs Talk Directly

Jiang envisions phones where different intelligent agents communicate seamlessly behind the scenes - what insiders call Agent-to-Agent (A2A) technology. Imagine your calendar automatically negotiating with your ride-hailing app when you're running late, without any manual input.

"For common tasks like ordering food or booking rides," Jiang notes, "direct AI conversations will replace clumsy screen tapping." But he acknowledges niche needs may still require traditional interfaces temporarily.

Interestingly, while Chinese manufacturers push boundaries aggressively, Western giants like Apple and Google remain cautious about automating app interactions. Jiang observes surprising alignment emerging globally regarding privacy expectations.

"Users everywhere want convenience," he says, "but not at the expense of security." OPPO aims to deliver both through partnerships with companies like Alipay to develop standardized frameworks.

The ultimate goal? Turning smartphones into truly intelligent companions that remember preferences and anticipate needs proactively - all while keeping personal data firmly under user control.
