Shanghai, China — Amid the bustling tech scene at the 22nd China International Digital Interactive Entertainment Exhibition (ChinaJoy), Liu Renlei, Senior Vice President of NetEase Youdao, revealed plans to launch the company’s next-generation AI Q&A Pen by the end of August. The announcement was made during the China International Digital Entertainment Industry Conference (CDEC) forum, where industry leaders gathered to discuss AI-driven advancements.

AI’s Role in Education and Beyond

During the forum’s panel discussion titled "AI Driven: The Evolution of Digital Life," Liu joined representatives from Microsoft, Alibaba, and Hesheng Shu Technology to explore AI applications across sectors like education, cultural tourism, and office productivity. He emphasized that AI and education are a "perfect match," capable of boosting teaching efficiency and solving long-standing challenges in traditional learning systems.

Building on Past Innovations

NetEase Youdao has been a pioneer in educational AI since launching "Zi Yue," China’s first educational large model, in July 2023. The company has since expanded its AI offerings, including the AI Q&A Pen released earlier this year, which targets K12 students’ tutoring needs. The upcoming iteration promises enhanced subject-specific Q&A capabilities and a more intuitive user experience.

Liu hinted at future developments, stating that NetEase Youdao will continue driving AI-education integration, with more innovations on the horizon.
