Didi's AI assistant makes ride-hailing as easy as chatting with a friend

Didi's New AI Assistant Turns Conversations into Rides

After half a year of real-world testing, Didi Chuxing has officially rolled out its AI-powered travel assistant named 'Xiao Di'. This isn't your typical ride-hailing interface - it's more like having a helpful friend who understands exactly what you need, even when you don't say it perfectly.

Speak Naturally, Ride Smartly

Gone are the days of tapping through multiple menus to specify your preferences. Xiao Di v1.0 uses advanced language models to interpret casual requests:

  • Comfort matters: Mention "motion sickness" and it automatically selects smoother-riding vehicles and experienced drivers
  • Special situations handled: Say "I'm pregnant" or "carrying big luggage" and it finds cars with spacious interiors
  • Multi-stop magic: Complex requests like "pick up my colleague then take me home" become simple conversations

The system currently recognizes over 90 different service tags, translating your words into the perfect ride setup. When exact matches aren't possible, it intelligently suggests the next best option.

More Than Just a Ride Finder

Xiao Di goes beyond basic transportation:

  • Remembers your frequent destinations ("Take me to work" works like magic)
  • Suggests popular coffee shops nearby when you need a caffeine fix
  • Offers multi-mode transport solutions for longer journeys

"This release marks our commitment to making travel planning effortless," a Didi spokesperson noted. The company plans continuous updates based on how real users interact with Xiao Di.

The feature is now live in the latest Didi app update under the 'AI Hail a Car' option. First-time users get special welcome rewards too - because even AI assistants appreciate good manners.

Key Points:

  • Natural language processing understands casual speech patterns
  • 90+ service tags cover most travel scenarios
  • Memory function learns your regular routes
  • Integrated lifestyle features combine transport with local services
  • Available now in latest Didi app update
