ChatGPT Rolls Out Its Own Version of Spotify Wrapped

ChatGPT Launches Year-End Recap Feature

Move over, Spotify Wrapped—ChatGPT now has its own version of annual reflections. OpenAI recently unveiled "Your Year with ChatGPT," a playful feature that analyzes users' conversation history to create personalized summaries. Much like music streaming platforms do with listening habits, this tool spotlights how people interacted with AI throughout the year.

How It Works

The system scans your chats and assigns quirky titles based on usage patterns. Frequent brainstorming sessions might earn you the "Creative Debugger" badge, while those who leaned on ChatGPT for advice could be dubbed "Wisdom Seeker." Each recap includes:

  • A custom-generated poem summarizing your key interests
  • Visually striking graphics highlighting conversation trends
  • Fun stats about your most-used prompts or topics

"We wanted to create something that feels both meaningful and delightful," explains an OpenAI spokesperson. "It's not just about data—it's about celebrating the unique ways people engage with AI."

Who Gets Access?

The feature isn't available worldwide yet. Currently rolling out to:

  • Individual users (Free, Plus, and Pro plans)
  • Countries: US, Canada, UK, Australia, and New Zealand
  • Those who enabled chat history saving features

Enterprise and education accounts won't see these recaps yet—OpenAI says they're focusing on personal use cases first.

Privacy First Approach

The company emphasizes user control:

  1. Recaps don't appear automatically—you must opt-in
  2. No private message content gets shared externally
  3. Users can delete specific conversations from their history

Access your recap by typing "View my year with ChatGPT" or clicking the prompt when it appears in your app.

What This Reveals About AI's Future

The launch signals how generative AI is becoming more personalized. As these tools learn our habits better than some friends do, features like this blend utility with entertainment—making technology feel less coldly algorithmic.

The rollout precedes expected 2026 updates where OpenAI plans to introduce more nuanced content boundaries and interaction tracking.

Key Points:

  • ChatGPT's new recap mirrors Spotify Wrapped for AI conversations
  • Generates poems, stats graphics, and humorous titles based on chat history
  • Currently available in five countries for individual users
  • Requires enabled chat history features to work
  • Represents growing trend toward personalized AI experiences
