Alibaba's DingTalk Unveils 'Wukong' AI Assistant for Businesses
Alibaba Takes Workplace AI to New Heights with Wukong Launch
At its annual product showcase this week, DingTalk made waves by introducing Wukong, an AI-native work platform that could redefine productivity tools for businesses. Founder Chen Hang unveiled the technology during the "DingTalk AI 2.0 Annual New Product Launch Event 2026," marking Alibaba's boldest move yet into enterprise AI solutions.

Always-On Digital Workforce
The Wukong platform isn't just another chatbot—it's designed as a tireless digital colleague. Available across both desktop and mobile devices, the system responds to voice commands within DingTalk's interface while working autonomously around the clock. Early demonstrations showed Wukong handling multi-step workflows that previously required human intervention.
"We're breaking down the walls between physical and digital workspaces," Chen explained during his presentation. "With Wukong, companies gain an intelligent layer that never sleeps."
Alibaba's Strategic Pivot
The launch coincides with significant internal restructuring at Alibaba Group. Just one day before Wukong's debut, CEO Wu Yongming announced formation of the Alibaba Token Hub (ATH), a new business group reporting directly to him.
The ATH has an ambitious mandate: transforming large language model capabilities into practical business tools. Wu sees AI Agents like Wukong becoming humanity's primary interface with digital systems long before artificial general intelligence arrives.
Industry analysts view these moves as Alibaba doubling down on enterprise technology:
- Positioning DingTalk as an AI Agent development platform
- Potentially integrating services from Taobao and Alibaba Cloud
- Creating synergies across Alibaba's business ecosystem
Key Points:
- Wukong represents DingTalk's most advanced workplace AI to date
- The platform operates continuously without human oversight
- Alibaba created a new Token Hub division to accelerate AI adoption
- Company leadership sees billions of specialized AIs reshaping work
- Integration with other Alibaba services appears imminent
