The Hanyang District of Wuhan has launched the nation's first AI-powered food delivery vehicle, named Zhiyin, marking a significant leap in logistics technology. Developed jointly by BeiDou and Yadea over three years, the vehicle integrates advanced navigation and automation to streamline last-mile deliveries.

Cutting-Edge Features

Equipped with a BeiDou dual-frequency chip, the Zhiyin achieves 1-meter positioning accuracy—surpassing traditional GPS systems. Key functionalities include:

  • Identity recognition for person-vehicle binding
  • Automatic speed reduction in residential zones
  • Route optimization algorithms
  • Full-process traceability via real-time data logging

Delivery worker Tang Xiaosong reported a 30% efficiency increase during trials, completing peak-hour deliveries in 6 minutes versus the previous 10-minute average. "The vehicle’s automated alerts and property access features save crucial time," he noted.

Safety and Collaboration Enhancements

The Zhiyin activates dual flash lights and voice alerts near residential entrances, while security personnel can grant access via card swipe. This system addresses a longstanding industry pain point: many communities prohibit delivery bikes, forcing workers to walk orders—a delay now mitigated by the vehicle’s real-time entry/exit tracking.
