Taobao Vision Launches AI-Powered Offline Flagship Store

Alibaba's Taobao Vision has taken a bold step into physical retail with the launch of its first offline concept store, currently in trial operation at the company's Hangzhou headquarters. The flagship location brings the platform's award-winning spatial commerce technology from virtual headsets to real-world shopping environments.

Immersive Shopping Redefined

The invitation-only store showcases cutting-edge retail innovations, including virtual test drives of Xiaomi's SU7 electric vehicle and interactive smart home demonstrations. These experiences aim to translate the success of Apple Vision Pro's spatial computing into tangible retail spaces. Image

AI Sales Assistants Debut

A standout feature is the introduction of Taobao's 3D AI digital humans, developed in partnership with winter apparel brand Bosideng. These lifelike virtual sales associates represent the industry's first full integration of AI personas into offline purchasing processes, blurring the lines between digital and physical commerce.

Award-Winning Technology

The launch follows Taobao Vision's recent recognition at Apple's 2025 Design Awards, where it became the first Chinese platform in 36 years to win in the "Outstanding Interaction" category. Apple praised Taobao Vision for its precise 3D product visualization that helps users evaluate items' dimensions, functionality, and real-world applications.

Since its April 2024 debut as Vision Pro's first Chinese e-commerce app, Taobao Vision has built an extensive 3D product ecosystem featuring over one million modeled items. Strategic partnerships with brands like DJI, Xiaomi Auto, and cosmetics leader M.A.C. have helped transition 3D shopping from visual novelty to practical utility.
