CodeRabbit Secures $60M in Series B Funding for AI Code Review

CodeRabbit Raises $60M to Revolutionize AI-Powered Code Reviews

San Francisco, September 17, 2025 - CodeRabbit, an emerging leader in AI-driven code review solutions, announced today the successful closure of its $60 million Series B funding round. The investment propels the startup's valuation to $550 million just two years after its founding.

From Observability to Code Review Innovation

Founded in 2023 by serial entrepreneur Harjot Gill, CodeRabbit addresses a critical pain point in modern software development. Gill previously sold his startup Netsil to Nutanix in 2018 and later founded observability platform FluxNinja. During this time, he identified a growing challenge: while developers increasingly adopted AI code generation tools like GitHub Copilot, the subsequent review process became a significant bottleneck.

"We noticed engineers spending more time fixing AI-generated code than writing original content," Gill explained. "CodeRabbit was born to automate quality assurance for this new paradigm of development."

The company acquired FluxNinja shortly after its founding and has since developed proprietary algorithms that identify errors in AI-generated code with remarkable accuracy.

Funding and Growth Trajectory

The latest funding round was led by Scale Venture Partners, with participation from:

  • Nvidia's venture arm NVentures
  • Existing investor CRV

This brings CodeRabbit's total funding to $88 million since inception. The capital will accelerate product development and expand go-to-market efforts.

Notable clients already benefiting from the platform include:

  • Chegg
  • Groupon
  • Mercury
  • Over 8,000 other organizations

"Our early adopters report cutting code review staffing needs by 50%," said Gill. "This translates to faster deployment cycles without compromising quality."

Competitive Landscape and Market Position

The AI code review space has become increasingly crowded with competitors like:

  • Graphite ($52M Series B)
  • Greptile (in talks for $30M Series A)
  • Established players like Anthropic's Claude Code and Cursor offering similar features

Gill remains confident in CodeRabbit's standalone product strategy: "Developers want specialized solutions rather than bundled features from general-purpose coding assistants."

The rapid adoption of AI coding tools has created unexpected challenges:

  1. Trust issues with machine-generated code quality
  2. Emergence of new roles like "code cleanup experts"
  3. Growing demand for specialized review solutions

"We're entering an era where human-AI collaboration needs structured workflows," noted industry analyst Maria Chen of TechInsights. "CodeRabbit's timing aligns perfectly with this shift."

Key Points:

  • 🚀 $60M Series B at $550M valuation
  • 🤖 Solves bottlenecks from AI-generated code proliferation
  • ⏱️ Reduces review staffing needs by 50%
  • 📈 Serves 8K+ clients including Fortune 500 companies
  • 🔍 Faces competition but maintains product differentiation
