Zhihui Jun Unveils Lingxi X2 and Open-Source AI OS at WAIC 2025
At the main forum of the 2025 World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC), Peng Zhihui (Zhizhi Jun), co-founder and CTO of Zhiyuan Robotics, showcased the humanoid robot Lingxi X2 and announced the open-source plan for Zhiyuan Lingqu OS, the industry's first embodied intelligence operating system reference framework. This move is set to accelerate advancements in embodied intelligence.
Human-Machine Dialogue Demonstrates Warmth
Lingxi X2 took center stage as a "guest," engaging in a dialogue with Zhizhi Jun. When asked about the biggest challenge in human-machine collaboration, Lingxi X2 responded: "Technology is important, but 'understanding'—human understanding of machines and our attempts to grasp human intentions—is key. True collaboration is based on 'consensus.'" The robot's humorous remark about needing a recharge after the conversation drew laughter, highlighting the naturalness of its interactions.
Open-Source Ecosystem to Drive Innovation
Zhizhi Jun unveiled the Zhiyuan Lingqu OS open-source plan, designed to integrate robot systems and spur technological breakthroughs. The framework follows a layered open-source model:
- Basic Layer: Built on Zhiyuan's high-performance middleware AimRT, offering services like distributed group real-time communication.
- Upper Layer Applications: Features an intelligent agent service framework for standardized access to base models.
- Tool Ecosystem: Includes tools for development, simulation, deployment, and data recording.
The plan will launch in Q4 2025, focusing on challenges like intelligent enhancement and cloud-edge-end integration.
Building a New Era of Embodied Intelligence
Like Windows for PCs or HarmonyOS for mobile devices, embodied intelligence operating systems are pivotal for bridging hardware and applications. Zhiyuan Robotics aims to create an ecosystem that supports diverse hardware and intelligent applications.
Industrial Applications Showcase Progress
At Zhiyuan's exhibition booth, Lingxi X2 demonstrated its capabilities as a "porter" on logistics assembly lines. The company is scaling production for industrial logistics, flexible manufacturing, and security patrols. Its Qiyuan General Embodied Large Model won the SAIL Star Award at WAIC 2025, recognizing its innovation in technology and industrial applications.
Key Points:
- Lingxi X2 showcased advanced human-machine interaction at WAIC 2025.
- Zhiyuan Lingqu OS is the first open-source embodied intelligence operating system framework.
- The initiative promotes collaboration across hardware, software, and toolchains.
- Industrial applications highlight the robot's versatility in logistics and manufacturing.
