Xiaomi's MiMo-V2.5 tops global AI model usage with 10.5 trillion tokens weekly

Xiaomi Group announced that its MiMo-V2.5 large language model has become the most called AI model globally, with a weekly usage volume of 10.5 trillion tokens for the week of July 20-26. This represents a 12% increase from the previous week, propelling it to the top of the rankings.

Xu Jieyun, Special Assistant to the Chairman of Xiaomi Group and Deputy Director of the Strategic Marketing Department, revealed that all top five positions in the global AI model call volume ranking were occupied by Chinese models last week. This indicates that Chinese AI large models are penetrating practical applications and developer ecosystems at an accelerating pace. MiMo-V2.5's significant ranking improvement is attributed to its increased call volume, marking the biggest change in this week's ranking.

Token call volume is a key metric for measuring the actual usage scale of AI models, reflecting their activity in application scenarios, developer access, and enterprise services. MiMo-V2.5's achievement of 10.5 trillion tokens weekly suggests expanding demand in smart applications, development interfaces, and related business scenarios.

In recent years, competition among large models has shifted from parameter scale to reasoning capabilities, cost efficiency, and ecological applications. Chinese AI companies are accelerating model commercialization by opening interfaces, reducing call costs, and expanding application scenarios. Domestic models from Xiaomi, Alibaba, ByteDance, and DeepSeek are increasingly entering the global AI infrastructure competition.

The top ranking of Xiaomi MiMo in the global call volume list reflects a broader trend: AI model competition is moving from technical indicator comparisons to real user scale and ecological influence. Going forward, model stability, developer ecosystems, and industry application capabilities will be crucial factors in evaluating the long-term competitiveness of large models.
