WorkBuddy Joins Enterprise WeChat Contacts, Serving 14 Million Businesses
Tencent's WorkBuddy has taken a big step: it's now a contact in Enterprise WeChat. On October 14, Tencent announced that WorkBuddy is deeply integrated with Enterprise WeChat, allowing users to call ten capabilities—messages, documents, meetings, micro-drives, and more—directly from the chat window, within the scope of enterprise authorization.

Who can use it? Verified enterprises, that's who. You'll need WorkBuddy 5.8.0 or higher and Enterprise WeChat 5.0.12 or higher, and an admin has to flip the switch in the background. Once that's done, WorkBuddy appears as a chatbot in your contacts, ready to take orders.
What can it do?
Think of it as a super-efficient assistant that never sleeps. WorkBuddy sorts your unread messages and emails into three neat piles: "To Handle," "To Pay Attention To," and "Other," complete with action items. Forward a work message from a group chat to WorkBuddy, and it automatically identifies referenced online docs, micro-drive files, schedules, to-dos, meetings, and smart minutes. You can also reference micro-drive files directly in the input box or ask Buddy to send messages or share products to private or group chats—with your confirmation before anything goes out.

Context travels with you. The WorkBuddy robot syncs between the app and desktop, so you can pick up a conversation on any device. Scheduled tasks and message push switches let you set it and forget it—results get pushed back automatically. In the document library, you can @ and invite Enterprise WeChat members to collaborate.
Enterprise-grade control
Admins can manage account allocation, permissions, and usage from the backend. Viewing meeting content or searching emails requires employee authorization, and WorkBuddy only acts within the authorized scope. That's a reassuring layer of security for businesses that handle sensitive data.

Why it matters: Enterprise WeChat already covers over 14 million real enterprises and organizations, serving 750 million WeChat users. By connecting Tencent's connectivity with WorkBuddy's task execution, enterprises can avoid switching platforms or migrating data. AI agents are quietly embedding themselves into existing office workflows—no disruption, just a new colleague who's always on.
