Tim Cook Steps Down, New CEO Takes Over with AI as Top Priority

Apple is entering a new era. On September 1st, John Ternus, the company's Senior Vice President of Hardware Engineering, will officially step into the CEO role, succeeding Tim Cook. According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, artificial intelligence will be the top priority of Ternus's tenure.

But his first challenge is just around the corner. Apple's fall product launch event is scheduled for September 9th (1:00 AM Beijing time on September 10th), with the theme "Surprise Shines." This will be Ternus's debut as CEO. The event is expected to introduce the new iPhone 18 Pro/Max and the Ultra series foldable phone. Hardware will still be the main focus, but the market is eager to see if Ternus can weave AI into the narrative.
