OPPO and Manus Join Forces: Your Phone Just Got a Brain Upgrade

Imagine asking your phone to "plan my trip" and it actually does it—gathering flight confirmations, hotel bookings, and restaurant reservations from scattered apps, then spitting out a day-by-day itinerary. That's not science fiction; it's what OPPO and AI agent platform Manus are promising with their new collaboration.

The Big Shift: From Answering to Doing

Yesterday, OPPO announced it's integrating Manus's agent technology into its AI Mind Pilot. Tang Kai, President of OPPO's Software Engineering, summed up the change: AI agents are moving beyond simple responses. They now understand intent, take action, and deliver real results. Zhang Tao, co-founder and CPO of Manus, pointed out that smartphones are packed with daily tasks, making them the perfect home for personal AI agents.

How It Works in Practice

The magic happens in the new agent mode of AI Mind Pilot, first available on the OPPO Find X10 series running ColorOS 17. Instead of just answering questions, it grasps your ultimate goal, breaks it into steps, fetches information, picks the right tools, and hands you a finished product. It can even access your device's files and photos.

Need a travel plan? Say the word, and it'll pull together flight tickets, hotel bookings, restaurant reservations, and event passes from various apps, mix in online info, and generate a daily schedule. For office work, one command can organize travel photos, find a specific image, or combine local and online materials into a ready-to-use PPT, proposal, or portfolio.

Privacy: On-Device First, Cloud Only With Your OK

Privacy is a major selling point here. ColorOS 17 uses on-device models for understanding and organizing, so sensitive tasks like file searching and renaming stay on your phone—nothing gets sent to Manus. If a task needs cloud processing, AI Mind Pilot will only upload data after you give explicit permission. OPPO and Manus stress that you control what information is accessed, what operations are performed, and whether external processing is allowed. It's a balance of on-device computing and transparent authorization, tying "smarter" with "controllable."

The Manus-powered AI Mind Pilot will debut on the Find X10 series first. So next time you're drowning in travel plans or office chores, your phone might just lend a hand—or rather, a brain.

Key Points:

  • OPPO partners with Manus to integrate AI agent capabilities into AI Mind Pilot.
  • The new agent mode moves beyond Q&A to complete multi-step tasks like trip planning and presentation creation.
  • Privacy is prioritized with on-device processing and user consent for cloud tasks.
  • Debuts on OPPO Find X10 series with ColorOS 17.
