OPPO and Manus Join Forces to Turn Mobile AI into a Task-Savvy Sidekick

OPPO has announced a collaboration with AI agent platform Manus to integrate Manus' agent capabilities into OPPO's AI Mind Pilot. The move pushes mobile AI beyond simple question-and-answer interactions into multi-step task execution. The feature will first land on the OPPO Find X10 series, which ships with ColorOS 17, as part of OPPO's broader "personalized proactive intelligence" strategy.

From answering to acting

So what does this mean for you? The new agent mode in AI Mind Pilot can understand your goals, break down complex tasks into manageable steps, and then generate usable results by pulling information and calling tools. It also handles local files and photos on your phone. Imagine planning a trip: the AI can gather flight tickets, hotel bookings, restaurant reservations, and attraction tickets scattered across different apps, mix in online info, and spit out a personalized itinerary. In the office, it can organize photos, summarize local files and web content, and even draft presentations, proposals, and portfolios.

Tang Kai, President of OPPO Software Engineering, said the collaboration aims to boost AI Mind Pilot's ability to grasp user intent, perform operations, and complete tasks. Zhang Tao, co-founder and Chief Product Officer of Manus, believes smartphones are a key platform for personal AI agents, and system-level integration helps lower the barrier for advanced agents.

Privacy by design

OPPO is keen to reassure users on privacy. ColorOS 17 processes local information on the device itself, and the original content of tasks like searching, organizing, and renaming files and photos won't be shared with Manus. When cloud processing is needed, the system will get your explicit consent first. This collaboration reflects a growing trend: phone makers are baking AI agents into operating systems, moving AI from information assistance to actual task execution.
