OPPO and Manus Join Forces: Find X10 Gets an AI That Actually Does Stuff

Your phone's AI assistant might be great at telling you the weather. But what if it could actually book the trip? That's the promise behind OPPO's new partnership with AI agent platform Manus, announced yesterday. The two are embedding Manus' agent technology into OPPO's AI Mind Pilot, a move that shifts smartphones from simply answering questions to getting real tasks done.

Tang Kai, President of OPPO's Software Engineering, summed up the shift: AI agents are no longer just responders—they understand intent, take action, and deliver results. Zhang Tao, co-founder and Chief Product Officer at Manus, added that phones carry a huge chunk of our daily to-dos, making them the most natural home for a personal AI agent.

From Q&A to "Consider It Done"

The collaboration comes to life in the new agent mode of AI Mind Pilot, which will first appear on the OPPO Find X10 series running ColorOS 17. Instead of stopping at simple Q&A, the system grasps your ultimate goal, breaks it into steps, gathers information, picks the right tools, and hands you a finished result. It can even tap into your device's files and photos.

Planning a trip? Just say "organize the travel plan." The agent will pull together scattered flight tickets, hotel bookings, restaurant reservations, and event passes from various apps, then blend that with online info to create a daily itinerary. In the office, one instruction can sort travel photos, find a specific image, or combine local and online materials into a ready-to-use PowerPoint, proposal, or portfolio.

Privacy: On-Device by Default, Cloud Only with Your OK

Privacy is another headline here. ColorOS 17 uses on-device models to handle understanding and organization, so local tasks like file searching and renaming never leave your phone. If a task needs the cloud, AI Mind Pilot will only upload data after you give explicit permission. OPPO and Manus stress that you decide what can be accessed, what actions can be taken, and whether external processing is allowed. By pairing on-device computing with transparent authorization, they're tying "smarter" to "controllable."

The Manus-powered AI Mind Pilot will make its debut on the Find X10 series first.
