Milestone Secures $10M to Measure AI's True Business Impact

Milestone Lands $10M Investment for AI ROI Tracking Platform

Israeli tech startup Milestone announced today it has closed a $10 million seed round led by Heavybit and Hanaco Ventures, with participation from notable investors including GitHub co-founder Tom Preston-Werner.

The company's innovative platform acts as a "GenAI data lake," integrating four critical data streams:

  • Code repositories
  • Project management systems
  • Team structure data
  • Code generation tools

"We're seeing companies struggle to quantify their AI investments," explained CEO Liad Elidan. "Our platform gives them concrete metrics on usage frequency, error rates, and development velocity."

Proving Value Through Real-World Results

Current clients including travel giant Kayak and work management platform Monday.com have used Milestone's technology with surprising results. Contrary to initial investor concerns about data sharing, companies actually expanded their AI tool licenses after implementing the platform.

The Dublin-based technical team, led by CTO Stephen Barrett from Trinity College, built a system that reveals how AI impacts engineering productivity. "We're not just tracking clicks," Barrett noted. "We're measuring how AI changes team capacity and workflow dynamics."

Focused Growth Strategy

While the market buzzes with generative AI applications across departments, Milestone remains focused on engineering teams for now. Their integration with major development platforms like GitHub and Atlassian positions them squarely in the technical workflow.

"Engineering is where we see the clearest ROI today," Elidan said when asked about expansion plans. "Marketing and other functions may come later, but we're doubling down on our technical roots."

The fresh funding will accelerate development of enterprise-grade features while maintaining the platform's core mission: turning vague promises of AI efficiency into hard numbers executives can understand.

Key Points:

  • $10M seed round led by Heavybit and Hanaco Ventures
  • Tracks actual ROI of generative AI tools in development teams
  • Clients report increased adoption after implementation
  • Focus remains on engineering, no immediate plans for marketing expansion
