A Green Computing Powerhouse

The planned 168-megawatt facility isn't just another data center. What sets it apart is its commitment to sustainability - the complex will run on renewable energy and utilize innovative seawater desalination for cooling systems.

Reliance will handle everything from design to operations, showcasing its ambitions to become a full-service provider for tech infrastructure. Deepening Digital Ties

This isn't the first dance between these corporate giants. Meta previously invested billions in Reliance's Jio platform, and last year they launched a $100 million AI solutions venture. The new data center takes their collaboration to a deeper level, moving beyond digital services into core computing infrastructure.

India's AI Boom Attracts Global Players

With AI demand exploding worldwide, India is emerging as a hot spot for computing investments. Microsoft, Amazon, Google and others are all expanding their Indian cloud infrastructure. Local data center capacity has quadrupled since 2020 and could exceed 8 gigawatts by 2100 according to industry projections.

To fuel this growth, the Indian government is offering tax incentives for foreign cloud providers through 2047. Meanwhile, infrastructure investors like Blackstone-backed AirTrunk and local firms Adani and TCS are pouring resources into supporting the AI boom.

Powering Up Responsibly

Meta isn't just building servers - it's securing clean energy too. The company has signed agreements to purchase nearly 1 gigawatt of renewable power from CleanMax and Fourth Partner Energy for the Jamnagar facility.

While financial details remain confidential, one thing is clear: this project tightens India's integration into Meta's global AI network while boosting the country's digital transformation.
