Mercedes-Benz and ByteDance Forge AI Partnership for Next-Gen Electric Vehicles

September 24, 2025 — Mercedes-Benz (China) Investment Co., Ltd. has entered into an upgraded strategic cooperation with ByteDance, marking a significant step in automotive AI integration. The partnership aims to leverage artificial intelligence across autonomous driving systems, intelligent cockpits, and digital customer experiences.

Intelligent Cockpit Innovations

The collaboration will combine Mercedes-Benz's cockpit AI platform with ByteDance's DouBao large language model, enabling rapid development of personalized in-car applications. This integration promises enhanced voice interaction capabilities, including emotional recognition and contextual understanding for the upcoming all-electric CLA model.

"By merging our automotive expertise with ByteDance's AI capabilities," stated a Mercedes-Benz spokesperson, "we're creating cockpit experiences that anticipate driver needs before they're expressed."

Autonomous Driving Advancements

The companies will collaborate on:

Mercedes brings four decades of automotive R&D experience to the partnership, while ByteDance contributes its Volc Engine big data platform.
