Meituan's Tabbit Browser Goes Mainstream with Smarter AI Assistance

Meituan's AI Browser Steps into the Spotlight

Artificial intelligence is making waves in an unexpected place - your web browser. Meituan's GN06 team has officially launched Tabbit 1.0, their AI-native browser that's now available on both Windows and macOS, with mobile versions currently in testing.

From Beta to Breakthrough

Tabbit's journey has been nothing short of remarkable. Since its public beta launch on March 2nd, the development team has pushed through over 100 functional updates. The most impressive improvement? The browser's intelligent agent now successfully completes tasks 91.8% of the time - a dramatic leap from its initial 53.1% success rate.

"We've seen users really embrace the AI's ability to handle complex workflows," notes the Tabbit team. Backend data from May shows average users are processing over 8.53 million tokens monthly, suggesting the browser is becoming an essential tool for heavy-duty office tasks.

Breaking the Mold

What sets Tabbit 1.0 apart is its refusal to be locked into a single AI model. The browser integrates several leading domestic large models including DeepSeek, Zhipu GLM, Kimi, and LongCat, with the ability to add new models as they emerge. This flexibility means about 60% of active users can compare different model performances depending on their specific needs.

Your Browser That Remembers

The new "memory function" might be Tabbit's most human-like feature yet. It learns user preferences, background information, and work habits to create personalized "callable memory." This reduces repetitive instructions and makes AI responses more accurate and considerate.

At the launch event, project lead Liu Jiong demonstrated how Tabbit handles complex scenarios effortlessly - from helping students organize thesis workflows to assisting HR professionals with resume screening and presentation creation, all triggered by single instructions.

Affordable AI for Everyone

Tabbit keeps its standard version permanently free, offering generous weekly allowances for conversations, AI-generated images, and long document summaries. For power users, the professional version increases task limits tenfold at just 9.9 yuan per week.

Looking ahead, Tabbit plans to build an open "Skill ecosystem" with a forthcoming "Tip Square" and creator support programs. In the crowded AI landscape, this open approach might just give Tabbit the edge it needs.
