LG Unveils Korea's Largest AI Model, K-EXAONE 2.0, Open-Sourced to Rival Chinese Tech

LG AI Research Institute has officially released K-EXAONE 2.0, the largest AI foundation model ever built in South Korea. The model, available on Hugging Face since July 31, is the second generation under the Sovereign AI Foundation Model Project backed by Korea's Ministry of Science and ICT. With a hybrid attention MoE architecture, it packs a whopping 750 billion total parameters—37 billion activated—making it more than three times the size of its predecessor.
