Strategic Importance of AI in Transport

At the launch event, Ma Yue, Huawei's Vice President and CEO of Smart Transportation Division, emphasized: "As data emerges as a critical production factor, AI adoption has become inevitable for industrial advancement. Transportation—with its vast operational data and complex scenarios—represents a prime domain for AI implementation."

The two-year development effort yielded a comprehensive framework including:

  • Intelligent computing center with hybrid computing architecture
  • Curated industry datasets for model training
  • AI platform toolchain for application development
  • Scenario-specific solutions for construction, maintenance, and operations

Technical Implementation

The partners established robust infrastructure featuring:

  • A big data center and disaster recovery facility
  • 35 edge computing nodes
  • Locally deployed Ascend AI processors capable of training 100-billion-parameter models
  • Integration of Huawei's Kunpeng processors, Cloud Stack, and GaussDB

Through Huawei Cloud ModelArts Studio, the collaboration created a unified platform supporting: ✔ Data engineering pipelines
✔ Model development workflows
✔ Intelligent agent creation
✔ Multi-modal capabilities (NLP, computer vision, spatiotemporal analysis)

Performance Benchmarks

The model achieved an 84% accuracy rate in core transportation business applications—surpassing general-purpose AI models. Key functional areas include:

  1. Industry cognition: Understanding regulatory/compliance frameworks
  2. Traffic situational awareness: Real-time monitoring and prediction
  3. Multi-modal scenario analysis: Integrating sensor data streams

Future Roadmap
