Got a complex task with clear-cut requirements? Target mode is your new best friend. You spell out what "done" looks like, and Doubao Work gets to work. Once it thinks it's finished, it doesn't just pat itself on the back—it goes through each goal, one by one. If something's off, it automatically reworks and adjusts until everything meets your standards. Think of it as a tireless editor who won't stop until the copy is flawless.

Plan Mode: Look Before You Leap

For tasks that are long, multi-step, and resource-hungry, Plan mode steps in. Before lifting a finger, Doubao Work drafts a Markdown implementation plan you can review and tweak. You get to calibrate, modify, and only hit "go" once you're aligned. This keeps the process controllable and saves time and resources. Bonus: you can edit, view, and share .md files right there, and even tell Doubao Work to make direct changes. Both modes are easy to fire up—just type "/" in the chat bar or click the "+" at the bottom left.

Task Queue and Dark Mode: Small But Mighty

The new task queue lets you fire off multiple instructions without interrupting the current job. New commands line up and execute in order once the current task wraps up. And for night owls, dark mode offers a more immersive experience. It can auto-switch with your computer's appearance or be set manually.
