Cloudflare's Open-Source AI Workspace Lets Everyone Build Workflows

Cloudflare has officially thrown its hat into the AI ring with the launch of Cloudflare OS, an open-source AI agent workspace that runs entirely in the browser. But this isn't just another generic AI tool wrapper. The company built it from scratch, based on its own daily needs, and after extensive internal testing, decided to share it with the world.

Matthew Prince, co-founder and CEO of Cloudflare, believes that for AI to truly transform enterprises, it can't be locked away in isolated environments. Instead, companies should empower every employee to securely build and automate workflows. That's exactly what Cloudflare OS aims to do.

What Makes Cloudflare OS Different?

The core advantage lies in its ability to capture and accumulate internal knowledge from day one. Employees without any programming background can create personalized micro-applications using the company's internal knowledge base. They can build workflows, collaborate with colleagues, and share their creations internally—all without losing context. This directly addresses the pain point of many enterprise AI tools being too generic and lacking specific business knowledge.

Zero-Trust Architecture and Full Control

Administrators can monitor token usage and cost expenditures with precision, viewing detailed expenses by personnel, team, or application. They can set budgets, speed limits, or flexibly distribute requests based on task complexity. For instance, routine tasks can be assigned to small, efficient models, while high-level reasoning tasks can call upon cutting-edge large models.

Prince added that Cloudflare OS was born out of necessity—there simply wasn't a product on the market that met their needs. Now, after years of polishing, all enterprises can directly benefit from this refined solution.
