ByteDance's New AI: Doubao 2.1 Pro 0915 and Feishu's Team Agent
ByteDance's Double AI Drop: Doubao 2.1 Pro 0915 and Feishu's Team Agent
ByteDance is making waves in enterprise AI with two major releases: an upgraded Doubao large model, Doubao-Seed-2.1-pro version 0915, now live on Volcano Ark, and Feishu 8.0, which introduces a Team Intelligent Agent called "Doubao Work Partner." Together, they aim to push AI from personal assistants into the heart of team collaboration.
Doubao 2.1 Pro 0915: Built for Real Work
The 0915 version isn't just a minor tweak—it's all about "production-level delivery." For Agent tasks, it sharpens evidence tracing, authoritative source retrieval, and data verification, cutting down hallucinations in scenarios like financial research or office automation that demand multiple tool calls and long reports. In one demo, the model coordinated over 500 sub-Agents to scan 1,000+ web pages, cross-check financial reports, production capacity, fleets, and hiring, and even pulled in satellite imagery and maritime data to generate traceable due diligence reports.
Multimodal programming gets a boost too. The model now better understands cross-file, long-term issues in large code repositories. In a self-repair test on the open-source game Luanti—387,000 lines of code and 1,000 real historical issues—multiple sub-Agents worked in parallel for 36 hours and met merge standards for 83% of the issues. In an old ERP scenario, with just a screen recording and a few sketches, it generated mobile pages for purchase orders, inventory, and stock based on a 280,000-line system. It even handles 3D and professional graphics: four design drawings were enough to recreate an interactive courtyard scene with water, vegetation, camera angles, and seasonal changes.
On the cost side, Token efficiency is improved, with significantly lower token consumption for image and video reasoning compared to the previous generation. APIs on Volcano Ark offer two entry points: the locked version Doubao-Seed-2.1-pro-0915 and the auto-updating Doubao-Seed-Evolving. After the Doubao Work update, users can select "Doubao 2.1 Pro (New 0915 Version)," and TRAE has also been integrated.
Feishu 8.0: Your Team's New AI Colleague
Meanwhile, Feishu 8.0 reimagines collaboration through intelligent agent teamwork. You can add "Doubao Work Partner" to group chats just like inviting a colleague. Multiple agents can cooperate within authorized scopes, calling Feishu docs, multi-dimensional tables, meetings, calendars, cloud drives, and enterprise systems to sync information, review documents, organize weekly reports, and analyze code. It has its own identity, permissions, and memory—remembering team experiences from chats, docs, and meetings, and proactively stepping in based on project progress. Enterprises can configure capabilities, data scope, and usage uniformly, managing agent permissions, audit, and security boundaries like they would for people.
Feishu says the Doubao Work Partner is currently in a targeted co-creation phase and will gradually open up. The goal isn't to replace single-consultation office AI, but to make AI a "virtual member" that permanently resides in the team—shifting from "each person independently calling a model" to "the whole team sharing one AI colleague who follows up, hands over, and is traceable."
The Bigger Picture
Industry watchers see this as a signal: enterprise AI is moving from single-point model competition to a full chain. Doubao handles models and task execution, Feishu carries organizational context and permissions, and Volcano Ark provides APIs, computing power, and development infrastructure. If this loop can close in real projects—verification, programming, documentation, meetings—enterprise office AI agents might finally move from demo tools into routine production.
Key Points:
- Doubao 2.1 Pro 0915 focuses on production-level delivery, with enhanced Agent tasks and multimodal programming.
- Feishu 8.0 introduces Doubao Work Partner, a Team Intelligent Agent that integrates into group chats, docs, and meetings.
- The update signals a shift from single-point model competition to a full-chain enterprise AI ecosystem.
- Both products are part of ByteDance's push to make AI a permanent, traceable team member.
