BYD's Humanoid Robot Set for August Debut in Zhengzhou, Starting with Commercial Services

BYD is moving fast on its humanoid robot project, with a clear timeline now in place. On July 28, the company confirmed to media that its humanoid robot will be officially unveiled in August, with initial applications likely in commercial service scenarios.

Earlier, the "Di Space | Zhengzhou Store" under BYD released a teaser video poster for the robot, captioned "In early August, a new friend wants to meet you," which caught the market's attention. The unveiling will take place at BYD's first "Di Space" experience center in Zhengzhou. This space is designed as a brand technology showcase and user experience hub, distinct from traditional 4S stores, focusing on product display, tech interaction, and launching new businesses.

Public information shows that "Di Space | Zhengzhou Store" spans four floors with a total construction area of about 15,000 square meters, serving as a key venue for BYD to explore future technology display models. Industry experts believe BYD's humanoid robot may first be used in commercial service roles such as exhibition hall reception, product explanation, and user interaction, gradually expanding to fields like industrial manufacturing and intelligent logistics.

Following the announcement, BYD's A-share stock rose more than 2% during trading. The humanoid robot concept sector also strengthened, with Mingxin Xuteng hitting two consecutive daily limits, Shangwei Xincai rising over 9%, and related companies like Beizhi Technology, Sanhua Zhikong, Tossda, Lixing Shares, and Tianqi Shares also seeing gains.

In recent years, with rapid advances in AI, large models, and robotics, automotive companies are accelerating into the embodied intelligence track. BYD's humanoid robot launch signals that traditional manufacturers are extending from smart cars to a broader ecosystem of smart terminals and robots.

As robot hardware costs drop, AI capabilities improve, and application scenarios open up, the commercialization of humanoid robots is entering an accelerated phase. High-frequency scenarios like offline services and industrial production may become the first breakthrough areas for the industry.
