AliHealth's Hydrogen Ion Scores Full-Text Access to Top Medical Journals

AliHealth's medical AI platform, Hydrogen Ion, has reached content collaboration agreements with NEJM Group (publisher of The New England Journal of Medicine), JAMA (Journal of the American Medical Association) and JAMA Network. Adding to its previous agreement with BMJ Group (British Medical Journal), Hydrogen Ion now becomes the first medical AI platform in China to have full-text content authorization from the world's three top medical journals.

This milestone comes just two months after Hydrogen Ion's product launch in May. At that time, the collaboration with BMJ was described as the "starting point of cooperation with international top-tier journals." Now, with NEJM and JAMA on board, AliHealth's strategic push to integrate top medical evidence is rapidly taking shape.

For years, Chinese doctors have faced significant hurdles in accessing global cutting-edge medical evidence: high costs for top-tier literature, language barriers, and inefficient search tools. For instance, searching for subgroup efficacy data on an immunotherapy regimen often yields only abstracts on PubMed; full texts require paid access, and users must search multiple journals separately—a process that can take half a day.

Now, the partnerships with the three publishing groups cover nearly all core evidence resources across clinical disciplines. This includes academic content and multimedia from 70 BMJ Group journals published over the past decade, all NEJM Group publications and multimedia since 1990, and all published content and multimedia from JAMA and JAMA Network—all integrated into the Hydrogen Ion platform.

Doctors can directly read full-text articles on Hydrogen Ion or obtain evidence-based answers through AI Q&A. Every reference is traceable to the original passage, and bilingual reading is supported. The traditional "man searches for literature" model is evolving into "AI plus evidence reasoning." Hydrogen Ion's ongoing investment in international top medical journals essentially aims to build an evidence-based AI infrastructure for Chinese doctors.
