AI Conversations Surge 100-Fold as Digital Assistants Become Indispensable

Digital Companionship Takes Center Stage

The latest annual report from Yuanbao paints a striking picture: our relationship with AI assistants has deepened dramatically in just one year. What began as occasional queries has blossomed into daily digital companionship, with question volume skyrocketing 100 times since January.

Around-the-Clock Conversations

Peak usage times tell their own story. While desktop users engage most at the classic mid-afternoon slump (3 PM), mobile users turn to their AI companions during evening downtime (8 PM). WeChat conversations fill daytime gaps, creating a seamless cycle of human-AI interaction throughout waking hours.

"We're seeing AI move beyond utilitarian tasks," explains Yuanbao's chief product officer. "People aren't just asking for weather updates—they're having multi-turn conversations that blend practical help with emotional connection."

Beyond Simple Queries

The data reveals three dominant use cases:

  • Social simulation: Crafting replies, practicing conversations, even venting frustrations
  • Learning companion: Homework checks, concept explanations, study planning
  • Creative collaborator: From work emails to novel chapters, AI assists across writing tasks

Nearly half of all responses now combine text with visual elements—a significant shift from last year's predominantly text-based interactions.

Emotional Connection Emerges

The most surprising finding? User testimonials highlight emotional benefits more than technical features. "Curing inner turmoil," "emotional value," and "feeling like a human" topped satisfaction surveys—phrases rarely associated with technology just years ago.

DeepSeek's rapid model updates reach Yuanbao users within hours, enabling increasingly sophisticated exchanges. Current capabilities include:

  • Dual-column code review for developers
  • Voice and phone input options
  • Multimedia generation blending text, images and video links

The lines between tool and teammate continue to blur.

Key Points:

  • 100x growth in daily queries signals mainstream AI adoption
  • Evening hours (8 PM) now rival workday usage peaks
  • Visual responses account for nearly 50% of interactions
  • Emotional support emerges as unexpected primary use case
