2024 AI Trends Report: Young People Embrace Technology

According to the "2024 Trends Report on AI Usage Among Young People," the application of AI has expanded beyond specific fields, now influencing various aspects of life, including work reviews, personal projects, creative video production, and even companionship.

The report indicates that compared to 2023, individuals born after 1995, women, and corporate managers exhibit the highest interest in AI technologies. Notably, over 80% of respondents expressed a strong interest in AI tools for text, painting, audio, and video. Furthermore, nearly half of the participants reported using AI tools daily, underscoring AI's integration into everyday work and life.

Among AI users, the average individual utilizes two AI software applications, with the most common features totaling four. Those with extensive workplace experience are more inclined to leverage generative AI functions, such as document content creation, image processing, audio/video production, and speech recognition. In contrast, students primarily use AI for content creation, information gathering, and interpreting lengthy texts to fulfill academic requirements.

The survey also revealed that evaluations of AI-generated content are generally positive, with "interesting" being the most frequent feedback. College students are particularly inclined to use AI for brainstorming and realizing creative ideas, while white-collar workers often view AI as a "substitute for experts," seeking guidance in areas such as law, health, fitness, and travel.

Over 70% of respondents are actively seeking to deepen their understanding of AI, focusing on learning AI prompts and refining instructions. Among students, 8% have already invested in AI education, reflecting their awareness of the growing demand for AI skills in the future job market.

In addition to its practical applications, AI is also utilized for entertainment and creative expression. Young people engage with AI for activities such as cyber tarot readings, astrology, and meme creation. The user-friendly and enjoyable nature of AI tools has contributed to their popularity among this demographic.

Regarding emotional support, nearly 60% of respondents believe that AI can provide emotional assistance and help alleviate anxiety. Individuals born after 2000 and women are particularly open to engaging in deeper conversations with AI. Additionally, AI is perceived as a "parenting tool" by many post-1995 parents, who recognize its role in addressing their children's communication needs.

AI has also demonstrated its advantages in travel planning and translation, especially during short holiday periods when AI usage peaks. With the resurgence of outbound tourism, the demand for AI translation tools has significantly increased.

Despite rising expectations for AI-generated content compared to last year, there is also a notable increase in "wait-and-see," "cautious," and "vigilant" attitudes towards AI, particularly concerning data privacy. Most respondents are willing to recommend AI tools, provided they ensure high security and do not compromise personal or sensitive information.

AI has emerged as a crucial tool for enhancing personal competitiveness, with individuals exploring ways to utilize AI effectively while remaining vigilant about potential risks associated with the technology. As AI technology continues to evolve, its applications are expected to broaden and deepen in the future.
